Pinellas County Housing Authority Presents a Section 3 Workshop for Contractors

The Pinellas County Housing Authority’s Resident Services Department will conduct a Section 3 workshop for contractors on Thursday, April 19, 2012.  All contractors are encouraged to attend.

Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, commonly referred to as Section 3, requires that recipients of U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds, to the greatest extent possible, provide job training, employment, and contract opportunities for low- or very-low income residents in connection with projects and activities in their neighborhoods.

PCHA’s Procurement and Contracts Department Announces Davis Bacon Compliance Workshop for Contractors

The Pinellas County Housing Authority will hold a workshop for contractors on Thursday, April 12, 2012 regarding contractor compliance with the Davis-Bacon wage law.  The workshop will begin at 3:00 pm and will cover the basic elements of Davis-Bacon wage requirements and enforcement.

Pinellas County Housing Authority To Provide Housing Assistance to 100 Homeless Veterans

Another 100 homeless veterans in Pinellas County will receive housing through the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program announced by HUD this week.

“It’s a national disgrace that one out of every six men and women in our shelters once wore a uniform to serve our country,” said HUD Secretary Donovan. “But we know that by providing housing assistance and case management services, we can significantly reduce the number of veterans living on our streets.  Working together, HUD, VA and local housing agencies are making real progress toward ending veteran homelessness once and for all.”
