The Pinellas County Housing Authority (PCHA) will be opening its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) waiting list soon and will accept online applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List lottery, beginning 9:00 a.m. EDT, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, through 5:00 p.m. EDT, Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Applicants can access and complete the online pre-application to get on the waiting list at:

Pre-applications will ONLY be available electronically, via the online application portal, on the dates listed above. PCHA will be using the lottery method to fill the waiting list and will only be placing three thousand (3,000) applicants on the waiting list. Applicants placed on the waiting list from the lottery will be given preference points for Head of Households (HOH) who are Elderly or Disabled, Veterans, and Pinellas County residents.

This Public Notice serves as the opening and closing of the HCV Waiting List. The HCV Waiting List will be opened from 9:00 a.m. EDT, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, through 5:00 p.m. EDT, Thursday, September 1, 2022, in compliance with PCHA’s Administrative Plan and HUD Regulations.

Service Area

This waiting list is for rental assistance in Pinellas County, Florida (with the exception of the incorporated City of Clearwater, Florida).

Reasonable Accommodation

Applicants whose head of household are disabled and need a Reasonable Accommodation to have a paper pre-application mailed to them, may do so beginning 9:00 a.m. EDT, Monday, August 15, 2022, through 5:00 p.m. EDT Friday, August 19, 2022, by calling (727) 443-7684 ext. 3001. Submission of a lottery pre-application provides an opportunity for applicants to be selected for the PCHA HCV (Section 8) Waiting List. Submission of a pre-application does not guarantee that the applicants will be selected for the HCV (Section 8) Waiting List, as it is a lottery method. It is the policy of PCHA to comply fully with all Federal, State, and local non-discrimination laws; the Americans with Disabilities Act; and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations governing Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. No person shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion, national or ethnic origin, familial status, or disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the bene?ts of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under the PCHA HCV (Section 8) Program.
