PCHA Celebrates Older Americans Month
May is officially “Older American’s Month” and the Pinellas County Housing Authority is making plans to recognize and celebrate its senior residents through a Health and Wellness Fair. This year’s theme is Engage at Every Age, which “emphasizes that you are never too old (or young) to take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental, and emotional well-being”. PCHA seniors are invited to take part in the Health and Wellness Fair on May 25th. Participants will include:
- Simply Health Care
- 211 Tampa Bay Cares
- Aetna
- Area Agency on Aging of Pinellas and Pasco
- Bardmoor YMCA
- Dedicated Senior Medical Center
- NAMI of Pinellas
- Neighborly Care Network
- Pinellas Opportunity Council
- United Health Care
- WellCare
- GTE Financial
- Young Life Youth Choir
- Nurse on Call
Light snacks will be served as the residents enjoy listening to the Young Life choir and visiting with providers from various agencies. In addition, the youth from Rainbow Village, Norton Apartments and students from Ridgecrest Elementary school are busy making greeting cards that will displayed at PCHA senior properties, Crystal Lakes Manor and Magnolia Gardens, for the residents to enjoy throughout the month of May.
