Pinellas County Children to Design Dream Playground
BANK OF AMERICA, PINELLAS COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY AND KaBOOM! HOST DESIGN DAY FOR NEW PLAYGROUND AT RAINBOW VILLAGE
WHAT: Bank of America, the Pinellas County Housing Authority and organizers from KaBOOM! will host a Design Day for children in the Rainbow Village public housing community on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Children who live at Rainbow Village will put crayon to paper and draw their dream playgrounds, which will ultimately become a reality. Elements from the children’s drawings will be incorporated into the final design for the new community playground to be built on Dec. 3 at Rainbow Village. Design Day will also be the first meeting of the playground planning committee that will work for the next eight weeks to plan and prepare for the construction of the new playground.
Free Financial Education Workshops at PCHA
PCHA has joined with the Wealth Building Coalition to offer free Financial Education Workshops at PCHA’s Central Office located at 11479 Ulmerton Road in Largo. The two-part workshop series will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, September 20th and from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 29th, 2011.
By participating in the Financial Education Workshop, participants will gain an understanding of the various types of financial institutions, will learn the fundamentals of a checking and savings account, and will learn how to better manage their finances. Once the participant completes both of the required workshops they will receive a Bank on St. Pete (BOSP) Certificate. This BOSP certificate will allow the participant to begin a banking relationship, regardless of their previous banking history, from a select list of financial partners.
