🏛️ Historic Gas Plant District Senior Housing Proposal — Coming Soon
The Pinellas County Housing Authority is proud to be part of a proposed affordable senior housing community planned for the Historic Gas Plant District in St. Petersburg.
This proposed development is about more than housing. It is about connection, history, and creating an opportunity for seniors to remain rooted in the community they love.
The community would provide affordable apartment homes for seniors in a thoughtfully designed, transit-accessible location near the Pinellas Trail and downtown St. Petersburg. The project is intended to create safe, stable, long-term affordable housing while honoring the legacy of the Historic Gas Plant District and the families impacted by displacement years ago.
As part of this proposal, preference would be given to seniors who were displaced from the Historic Gas Plant District, as well as individuals and families with historic ties to the community. Interest would be handled on a first-come, first-served basis through the interest list once eligibility and application processes begin.
This is an opportunity for individuals and families connected to the Historic Gas Plant District to stay informed and connected as the project moves forward.
